Cookie Policy

The cookies this site sets, what each one is for, and how to control them.

  1. What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to keep, and which your browser sends back on later visits. Cookies are what let a site recognise the same browser from one page to the next, which is how staying signed in works at all.

This policy covers cookies and anything that behaves like one, such as data stored in your browser by a script. It explains every cookie this site sets, what each one is for, and how to remove them.

  2. The cookies we set

Two, and neither of them until you do something that asks for it. One keeps you signed in. The other remembers that you closed the announcement bar above the page. A visitor who only reads is given neither.

The first is called "session". It is what keeps you signed in as you move between pages: without it every page would treat you as a stranger and there would be no account to visit. It holds a signed token that identifies your account and nothing else. It carries no name, no address, no booking history and no payment information, and it cannot be read by any other website.

    • Name: session
    • Purpose: keeps you signed in to your account
    • Set: when you sign in, never before
    • Expires: seven days after it is issued, or immediately when you sign out
    • Read by: this site only, and never by JavaScript running in your browser
    • Shared with: nobody
  3. The announcement cookie

From time to time a bar above the page announces an offer, such as a discount code for a first cleaning. It has a close button, and pressing it sets the second cookie. That is the whole of its job: it is how the bar knows not to reappear on the next page you open.

It holds the name of the offer you closed and nothing else. There is no identifier in it, nothing tied to your account, and nothing that says who you are, so it cannot be used to recognise you or follow you anywhere. If we later announce a different offer the bar appears once more, because what you closed was that announcement rather than every announcement.

    • Name: promo_dismissed
    • Purpose: keeps an announcement you closed from coming back
    • Set: when you press the close button on the bar, never before
    • Expires: six months after you close it
    • Read by: this site, and by the page itself in your browser
    • Shared with: nobody
  4. What we do not set

We set no advertising cookies, no marketing cookies, and nothing that follows you to other websites. We run no advertising network, no social media pixels, and no third-party scripts of any kind on this site.

Beyond the two cookies above we store nothing else in your browser. No basket, no partly filled booking form, no saved address, and nothing at all in your browser storage — the two cookies are the only marks this site leaves on your device.

  5. How we count visits

We use Vercel Web Analytics to see which pages are visited and how often, so we know what is worth writing and what nobody reads. It does not use cookies and stores nothing on your device.

It cannot identify you, follow you across other websites, or be combined with your account. What we get from it is counts, not people.

  6. Why there is no cookie banner

Because there is nothing to ask you about. A cookie banner exists to collect consent for cookies a site sets before you have agreed to them, and we set none of those. Both cookies described above are written by an action you took yourself: one by signing in, the other by pressing a close button. Read the whole site without touching either and neither is ever set.

If that ever changes, this page will change with it and we will ask before setting anything new.

  7. Controlling cookies

Every browser lets you see the cookies a site has set, delete them, and refuse new ones. The controls sit under Settings, usually under Privacy. Deleting the session cookie signs you out, exactly as the sign-out button does; deleting the announcement cookie only brings the bar back.

Blocking cookies for this site is allowed and costs you less than it might elsewhere. You can still browse every page, read the checklists, get a price and book a cleaning as a guest. The one thing you cannot do is stay signed in, because staying signed in is what the cookie is.

  8. Changes to this policy

If we start setting a cookie we do not set today, we will list it here before we do, and this page will say when it last changed. The date at the top of this policy is the version in force.

  9. Questions

If anything here is unclear, or you want to know what we hold about you, write to support@blueclean.pro and a person will answer.
